Anonymize Google Search Results

Posted by ePlus on 7 November, 2008 at 1:40 am

Recently with the UK announcing that they’ll be putting up a database to hold all the details of what everyone is doing online, shit gets a bit more worrying. As if I want the Government to know if I wear thongs or not….

Step 1
If you haven’t seen them already you need to read the latest guide of Security and Encryption Faq. That will get you started, answer most of your questions and give you an idea of what the whole thing is about. I mean you can follow that if you are paranoid etc.

Search MP3s on Google

Posted by ePlus on 24 January, 2006 at 18:33 pm

If you are looking for an easy way to find MP3s online than you can try this method. I found it on another site, tried it out and seemed to be working. So you can give it a go too and see if it works for you.

Is is very simple and straight forward. Nothing complicated or anything like that. I even made a simple guide with pictures if you get stuck!

Optimize Counter-Strike 1.6 (rates)

RECIPE FOR CALCULATING WHAT RATES TO USE

This guide is aimed primarily at people with less than perfect hardware… i.e. those of us who get choke / loss if we try using the “L337 rates” people with good hardware always try forcing on everyone else.

THE INGREDIENTS:

  • cl_cmdrate - this should apparently be approximately equal to the FPS you’re getting (check netgraph). Too much above or too much below and you’ll get choke.
  • cl_updaterate - you should set this as high as it will go without causing ANY packet loss - if you’re getting any loss, that’s BAD.
  • rate - capped at 20000 for online play (25000 at LAN). Setting it too low will cause choke. Setting it too high will cause choke.
  • ex_interp - the “ideal” is supposed to be 1/cl_updaterate. NEVER set this to zero because CS uses your current cl_updaterate, not the server’s. Basically, the higher ex_interp, the smoother play will appear, but true player positions will be less accurate on your screen. Some people prefer to just set this low and leave it there. (0.01)

THE METHOD:

So, to figure out decent settings for you, best thing to do is probably something along the lines of this:

1 ) Turn on netgraph (”net_graph 3″ I think is the one you want)

2 ) Start with this:

  • cl_cmdrate 30
  • cl_updaterate 40
  • rate 15000
  • ex_interp 0.033

3 ) Run around a bit (preferably on a busy server) and take note of your FPS… what you want is you *average* FPS.

4 ) Set cl_cmdrate to that value. E.g. if you’re averaging 40 FPS on a busy server, then set cl_cmdrate to 40.

5 ) Run around some more, and see if you experience any choke. If you’re getting choke, drop this value by 5. If you’re not, increase by 5. Basically - keep doing this for a bit - you want the highest setting you can get before getting any choke / loss. Once you’re happy, subtract 5! (safety buffer - and lets us play with the next settings) (max of 101)

6 ) Ok, so we’ve got our “ideal” cl_cmdrate… let’s mess around with the cl_updaterate… Increase your cl_updaterate by 5, then run around some more. If you’re not getting choke / loss, add 5. If you are, subtract 5. Basically, find the highest setting for this you can without getting any loss / choke. (max of 101)

7 ) Now that we’ve got those sorted, change your ex_interp to 1/cl_updaterate - so if your cl_updaterate is 50, you’ll use 0.02. If your cl_updaterate is 100, you’ll use 0.01. etc. (use a calculator) This value has more to do with the “feel” of the game rather than choke/loss, and some people will tell you to use 0.01 all the time (which is usually the same bunch of people who have decent connections capable of handling cl_updaterate of 100/101 and think they know better - it depends on how much easier you find it playing with a smoothe gameplay vs. a jerky but slightly more accurate one)

8 ) Ok… now you can start mucking about with the rate setting. Start increasing the rate by 500 until you get choke / loss. As soon as you do, decrease it by 500, and voila! You should have a pretty decent game on your hands.

9 ) Hopefully you’ll also have a reasonable ping, but your ping, or latency, is actually less important than the rest of the above. Put your trust in the Half-Life server code for client compensation on this one. If you’re really worried about your ping, then this is what you need to know: The higher your cl_cmdrate, the higher your ping. So you could try lowering the cl_cmdrate, then repeating steps 5-7 to get your better values for the other netcode (you might find though that you won’t get a better cl_updaterate or rate at all). I suggest you forget about ping for an evening and try with the values this little exercise gives you and see how it handles, and only worry about your ping if the feel of the game is still really poo.

Ok then… so who’s going to give this a try?

It has worked ok for me and most people I’ve told about it - again, if you’re not getting any choke or loss running 20000/25000 101 101 then there’s no point in messing with your rates since they’re about as good as they’ll get. Only reason you might have to play is if your ping absolutely sucks (i.e. worse than 50ms), otherwise you might as well stick with the higher rates.

Something else to bear in mind… these settings are not only affected by your hardware, but also by the server you’re connecting to (and the settings on that server), as well as every bit of network connection between your PC and the server you’re playing on. So while one setup might be fantastic on most UK servers, you might need to tweak things again if you play on a server where you’re getting a lot of choke / loss (a slow server or foreign one for example)

Counter-Strike Tweaks 1.5/1.6

Adding these to your CS link or in Steam (my games > right click on CS > Properties)

-console (add console)

-nojoy (remove joystick support, gives more ram)
-noipx (removing LAN options, gives more ram)
-noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd (disable mouse acceleration)
-dev (removing 100fps limit *STEAM ONLY*)
-heapsize (gives CS memory, set it by kbytes, example; i have 384mb of ram so i used:

-heapsize 300000 (it tells cs to use 300mb of ram as cache for CS) , set it to 60-80% of your total ram, help’s alot in 1.6)

Sensitivity:

CS is not Quake or UT, you dont need high sensitivity, you dont have rockets and plasma rifles, also CS has a great sound engine so you dont need to make some "FAST" moves. Getting used to low sensitivity will improve your aiming, lower your sensitivity by 0.5 every week, and you may see improvements, it also depents on your mouse and options, personally im using 2.5 because i have Microsoft Explorer. Lower sensitivity is better, so get used to it.

Config commands:

disable voicecomm (we got team-speak, ventrilo, why hear these 10 year old kids yelling?)
voice_scale "0"

voice_enable "0"
voice_modenable "0"
sv_voiceenable "0"

voice_forcemicrecord "0"

disable EAX (gets more FPS)

Searching Google for Music - Advanced Guide

Posted by ePlus on 8 December, 2005 at 3:03 am

Searching Google for Music - Advanced Guide*credit to my_haz for this superb guide on how to search Google. This How-To will teach you how to use google to find mp3s. This How-To
will be highly pragmatic and will focus on the hows and not the
wherefores of the various search strings.Index
———————————————————————-
0) Key
1) Directories
2) Xitami Servers
3) Directory Listing
4) Andromeda Servers
5) Zina Artists
6) Apache mp3 Servers
7) Individual Songs

———————————————————————-
Section 0 - KEY
———————————————————————-

You this are just some definitions I will use below.

[Directory String] can be any of the following :
1) “index of”
2) “last modified”
3) “parent of”

[file type] can be any of the following :
1) “mp3″
2) “shn”
3) “wma”

[mp3 name] can be any of the following :
1) the name of the album in quotes
2) the name of the artist in quotes
3) be daring and leave it blank and have lots of links
4) be creative!

[limitors]
1) -html -htm -php -asp -txt -pls

(inurl:) is optional and may be omitted and in fact most be
omitted if not using a search tool other than google.

(intitle:) can be used in place of (inurl:) and has a similar effect
again you must be useing google.

(-filetype:txt) adding this to the end of your search string can
filter some false positives.

(-playlist) adding this to the end of your search string can
filter some false positives.

———————————————————————-
Section 1 - Directories
———————————————————————-

These are the most common way that mp3s are stored on the www, you
should try these strings first.

String Format :
Type 1 : [Directory String] + (inurl:)[file type] + [mp3 name]
Type 2 : [Directory String] + (intitle:)[file type] + [mp3 name]

Type 3 : [Directory String] + [file type] + [mp3 name] + [limitors]

Example Strings :
- intitle:index.of + mp3 + “grandaddy” -html -htm -php -asp -txt -pls
- “index of” + “mp3″ + “radiohead” -html -htm -php
- “index of” + mp3 + “grandaddy”
- “index of” + inurl:mp3 + “beatles” -txt -pls
- “index of” + intitle:mp3 + beatles
- “last modified” + “shn” + “dylan”
- “last modified” + inurl:shn + “bob dylan”
- “parent of” + inurl:wma + “grandaddy”

Suggestions :
- Try (intitle:index.of + “mp3″ + “band name” -htm -html -php -asp) first it
is usually the most effective.

Another Little Trick:
- If you have been getting alot of results on google but the pages don’t seem
to be there try adding dates and the “apache” string to your search i.e.

- intitle:index.of + mp3 + “grandaddy” -html -htm -php -asp apache feb-2005
- intitle:index.of + mp3 + “grandaddy” -html -htm -php -asp apache 2005

or if you just want a big list of mp3′ doing a search like this everymonth
- intitle:index.of + mp3 + -html -htm -php -asp apache mar

———————————————————————-
Section 2 - Xitami Servers
———————————————————————-

String Format :
Type 1 : “xitami web server” + (inurl:)[file type] + [mp3 name]
Type 2 : “xitami web server” + (intitle:)[file type] + [mp3 name]

Example Strings :
- “xitami web server” + “mp3″ + “radiohead”
- “xitami web server” + intitle:shn + “beatles”
- “xitami web server” + inurl:mp3 + “magnetic fields”

- “directory listings of” + “mp3″ + “radiohead”
- “directory listings of” + intitle:shn + “beatles”
- “directory listings of” + inurl:mp3 + “magnetic fields”

———————————————————————-
Section 4 - Andromeda Servers
———————————————————————-

String Format :
Type 1 : “scott matthews” + andromeda + [mp3 name]
Type 2 : “scott matthews” + andromeda + [file type] + [mp3 name]
Type 3 : “powered by andromeda” + [mp3 name]
Type 4 : “powered by andromeda” + [file type] + [mp3 name]

Format : [mp3 name].mp3 -playlist -filetype:txt

Examples :
- “ok_computer_live.mp3″ -playlist -filetype:txt
- “*ok_computer*.mp3″ -playlist -filetype:txt
- kid*a.mp3 -playlist -filetype:txt

##########################################

2nd Method:

Here is a second example of maximizing search results on Google:

1. At Google Search, type in one of the following two phrases (try the first one; if you’re not happy with the results, try the second one on your second search):

* “index of/mp3″ -playlist -html -lyrics
* “index of/” mp3 -playlist -html -lyrics

2. If you’d like, add an artist’s name or song name to the end of the phrase, then click the Search Button.
3. Here are a few examples:

* “index of/mp3″ -playlist -html -lyrics beatles
* “index of/mp3″ -playlist -html -lyrics punk

This tip helps you find directories filled with mp3 files by finding Apache’s Index page:

1. At Google Search type in the following code:
2. +(”index of”) +(”/mp3″|”/mp3s”|”/music”) +(mp3|zip|rar) +apache
3. By editing this code, you can search for any type of media; oog, wav, pdf, etc.
4. Be sure to edit both the directory names as well as the file extensions if edited.

Finding mp3 and compressed files searching by title:

1. At Google Search type in the following code:
2. allinurl: +(mp3|rar|zip|tgz) TheTitle
3. Replace TheTitle with either a song title, artist name, or album.
4. Here are a few examples:
* allinurl: +(mp3|rar|zip|tgz) beatles
* allinurl: +(mp3|rar|zip|tgz) revolver
* allinurl: +(mp3|rar|zip|tgz) greatest hits
——————–
& to find cell phone programs:

just type the following line in your google search box and see experience a new world of finding games

for games
“parent directory” nokia games -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

for tones
“parent directory ” nokia polyphonic -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

for symbian games
“parent directory ” symbian games -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

for Wallpapers
“parent directory ” nokia wallpapers -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

for general Midi
“parent directory ” midi -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

also try using “Index of” instead of “parent directory”
——————–
and other tips:

You’ve probably seen some sites that allow you to Google their site for a certain term. This is accomplished via the “site” advanced operator. The following syntax is used for the site operator:

site:site_to_search

For example, if we wanted to search www.projectfearless.com
for the term “Nielsosky”, we would use the following:

Nielsosky site:projectfearless.com

or

example:

site:blabla.com
———————————————————-

The “inurl” advanced operator is used to search for a term within
URL’s. For example, searching for “inurl:binaryuniverse” searched
for all sites that have the term “binaryuniverse” in their URL.
The “intitle” is used to search for a term in the title. Thus,
“intitle:binaryuniverse” finds all pages with “binaryuniverse”
in their title.
————————————————————
Google keeps caches of pages. When the Google spider indexes a page,
it stores a copy of it. Thus, the cache is a copy of what the page was
like at an earlier date. To view the cache for a page, you can simply
search for the page, and then click the “cache” link underneath.
However, there is a quicker way, that involves only typing in
search terms, and not clicking. Simply type “cache:pageurl.com”
to view the cache of a page (in this case pageurl.com).
————————————————————
Google also allows you to search for pages of a certain filetype,
using the syntax “filetype:TYPE”. Replace ‘TYPE’ with the file type
you want to search for. So, if you wanted to search for tutorials
on SQL that are in PDF format, you would search for the following:

SQL Tutorial filetype:PDF
————————————————————–

Not only is Google the world’s best search engine, it also happens
to be a mighty fine dictionary. To use it as a dictionary, just type
“define:TERM”, and replace TERM with the word you wish to look up.
For example, if you want to look up “roflmao”, type “define:roflmao”,
without the quotes. This will give you several different resources
for definitions or roflmao. Fyi, roflmao means “rolling on the floor laughing my ass off”.
—————————————————————-
And now, it’s time for some fun — Google whacking. Actually, after
a couple minutes, I have found Google whacking to become extremely
boring, not to mention frustrating. A google whack is a two-word query
that returns one result. You may not use quotes, and both words in
the query must be real words. And yes, it is very hard.
For more info, I suggest you check out http://googlewhacking.com

At this point, the basics of Google have been covered, and you should
be a moderately good Googler.
——————–
how to search for STUFF at google

method 1
put this string in google search:

“parent directory ” /appz/ -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

“parent directory ” DVDRip -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

“parent directory “Xvid -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

“parent directory ” Gamez -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

“parent directory ” MP3 -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

“parent directory ” Name of Singer or album -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

Notice that i am only changing the word after the parent directory, change it to what you want and you will get a lot of stuff.

method 2
put this string in google search:

?intitle:index.of? mp3

You only need add the name of the song/artist/singer.
Example: ?intitle:index.of? mp3 jackson

method 3
put this string in google search:

inurl:microsoft filetype:???

method 4
put this string in google search:

intitle:index.of.???

method 5
put this string in google search:

“name of object”download
“name of object download”
free “name of object”download
free “name of object download”

Or just look for the filename(s).
and instead of using the inurl: tag, use site: that works too.

For Rapidshare:
http://www.google.com/search?q=+.zip+OR+.r…&start=510&sa=N

or movies:
http://www.google.com/search?q=+.wmv+OR+.a…l&start=10&sa=N

or music:
http://www.google.com/search?q=+.MP3+OR+.W…l&start=10&sa=N

Just play with the extensions.

E-Books

inurl:ebook.DDU | inurl:ebook.EEN | inurl:ebook.JGT | inurl:ebook.LiB | inurl:ebook.EAT

There’s a few ways to differentiate from that to change the outcome in your favor as well. For example, you can take away the “inurl:” to get many hits on things like forum posts or BitTorrent links. (Helpful if you’re looking for something rare.)

You can also add the file type you like (such as PDF, CHM, LIT, etc) to get a specialized search. Finally, don’t forget to put () or else Google may get confused. When defining a OR statement, Google expects the () to surround it. For example, you could search for:

- (ebook.DDU | ebook.EEN | ebook.JGT | ebook.LiB | ebook.EAT )
or
- PDF (ebook.DDU | ebook.EEN | ebook.JGT | ebook.LiB | ebook.EAT )
or get fancy with
- (PDF | CHM | LIT | ZIP | RAR | ISO) (ebook.DDU | ebook.EEN | ebook.JGT | ebook.LiB | ebook.EAT)

You can also use “Parent Directory”+ in front of it but don’t limit the search to Google, try several engines.

A nice site for Rabbits & webbits:

These are just a few of the things that you can search for using Google. It is an extremely powerful tool that can be used to find just about anything you could ever want on the internet. While I am not condoning pirating and filesharing, I feel that the sharing of information is absolutely essential to the survival of the internet. After all, the internet was founded on the idea of sharing information, Google just allows us to index all of that information into an easily searched archive.

I thought it was an interesting guide and maybe useful to some people...

eMule Plus & JumpStart

JumpStart!

This new option is specially designed for individual releasers on slow connections, as well as it helps to minimize releaser’s upload traffic during distribution.

It works as following:

1. Individual releaser shares a file.

2. Every client who wants to download that file is going to see only two chunks of that file for duration of JumpStart period.
3. Each client sees two different chunks or if too many clients want that file, two least seen chunks.
4. As soon as a chunk has been downloaded no one is going to see that chunk again for duration of JumpStart period (but you might have some clients in the queue for that already downloaded part).
5. As soon as all chunks have been downloaded JumpStart period is over and everyone can see a full file.

So, by the end of JumpStart period all chunks will be uploaded at least once and our tests (more than 30 Jumps) show that in the most cases all chunks are uploaded at least once when total traffic for a released file is around 150-200% of the file size (e.g. all chunks for 600Mb file can be uploaded with 900Mb total traffic for that file).

Things you have to know:
1. Only for new releases! You cannot expect good results from JumpStart if a file is already spread. It might happen that some part is so well spread that no one will download it from you and in this case JumpStart will be waiting forever, you will be a ‘No needed parts’ source from other client’s point of view. It is possible to turn JumpStart off any time you wish.

2. For the same reason as #1 you cannot release from many sources (e.g. release groups).
3. It works only for complete files.
4. JumpStart stores data (e.g. already downloaded chunks) in the database so it’s safe to restart eMule Plus.

To activate JumpStart you have to go to Shared Files, JumpStart option is in the Priority context menu. Please note that file priority (e.g. Release) and JumpStart are two different things, JumpStart can be activated with any Priority. You can watch JumpStart messages in the debug log.

First of all we want to create a folder were we can share our to-be-released files first. Then once the folder has been created we want to go into eMule Plus Preferences and find the folder and make sure we tick it to make it available for sharing, so we can share the contents of the folder.

Next we go to our Shared Files in eMule Plus, then we find our file that we want to release and we right click on it go to Priority >>Release (because we want it to be released to the public) >> JumpStart (because we want to give it higher priority over the other files that we are sharing). Also we right click on the file again and go to Permission >>Public so that we know for sure the file is made public so other can download it.

And finally we want to post our file to the forum as a ED2k link. We just simply want to copy the link to the clipboard. We don’t want to copy the link as HTML or Source, because the forum does the hard work and makes workable with eMule clients.

Hope it helped and that the above guide was what you are actually looking for. As far as I am aware, not that I know, but there are other clients which have better uploading speed/options than other clients for ED2k files. And those clients are used specially by people who release new files to the ED2k network often. So it is worth asking around people who release new files what clients they use, etc.

The above is simple to give you a basic idea of what you actually need to do to release a new file on the ED2k network. Options may be different on different clients.
