HOW TO Receive RSS Feeds from nokitel.co.uk

Posted by ePlus on 13 February, 2008 at 0:28 am

I have covered this before but that was for an old version of Firefox and this time I am going to include a RSS reader, "Snarfer" for those who do not use Firefox or just simply want an independent client.

But first let’s get things done out of the way in Firefox…

Firefox

The way of getting RSS feeds in Firefox it is pretty straight forward. Firefox already comes with a great  RSS manager known as Bookmarks Manager.  The sign above on the left is the universal sign that on that website RSS (Really Simple Syndication) are available so you know that you can get the latest news from that site by not actually having to check it every 10 minutes!

1. So to get the feeds in your Firefox load up it up and go to (obviously) http://nokitel.co.uk then on the right hand side you will see a big orange sign. Click it!

2. Next a window will pop-up asking you to add the RSS feeds of nokitel.co.uk to your bookmarks folder or toolbar. Select Bookmarks from the drop-down menu and press OK. You can always use the Bookmarks Manager later on to move or change the feeds.

3. Finally if you’ve followed everything correctly press CTRL+B on the keyboard and on the left hand side a panel will open which will look like this:

Snarfer

Snarfer, as its website puts it "Snarfer is simply the best way to read, search and manage RSS feeds. And it’s FREE!"

1. Go and download Snarfer from its website: http://www.snarfware.com/

2. Once it is downloaded and installed and you’ve selected one or two feeds that caught your interest and it is running click on the plus icon in the top right corner.

3. A drop down menu will open asking what you wanted to be subscribed to. Select Feed.

4. A window will then open up asking for the Feed address which it is going to be http://feeds.feedburner.com/nokitel and then follow the windows until you Finish. Done!

Feel free to post comments including other RSS readers that you use or tips/ideas etc.

Top 1000 Hits Of The Last 30 Years

Posted by ePlus on 10 February, 2008 at 18:49 pm

Through my searches on the intertubes I came upon a page where you can download the hits from the last 30 or so years. So go and get yourself a download manager, I recommend Orbit it is free and doesn’t come with any bulk bullshit. I use it, so it must be good! And to make things EVEN easier get the FlashGot addon for your Firefox

Then right click on one of the links on http://ahn.50webs.com/music.html and select download all. And wait…. And wait more…. At least 3GB of songs there, so it will take some time.  Once it has finished downloading replace the .jpg file extension to .mp3 and voila, it works! :D

If you don’t see the .jpg or .mp3 file extensions on the files on your computer open up My Computer then go to Tools >> Options >> View >> untick the box which says Hide extensions for known file types and you’re done!

Now you can’t say I don’t give you anything. Thanks me later bitchezzz….

FireTune Firefox

Look what I found. This nice simple tool can optimize your Firefox to work to its best. I noticed an improvement straight away! This is what it does, I’m quoting from the website.

According to your specific computer speed and internet connection speed, FireTune will optimize several internal settings of Firefox for better performance. FireTune does NOT modify the Firefox executable, or any other Firefox binary file. Everything can be undone easily provided you saved your original profile configuration file with FireTune’s profile backup feature before.
